On 11.10.23, sirventes berlin sang with Jana Miller, soprano, Wiebke Kretschmar, alto, Will Frost, tenor, Jakob Ahles, bass and Stefan Schuck (conductor and piano) at the symposium to mark the 250th anniversary of Henrik Steffens’ (1773-1845) birth. Birthday of Henrik Steffens (1773-1845), professor at the University of Berlin since 1832. The symposium was held at the Heilig-Geist-Kapelle in Berlin-Mitte and was attended by top international speakers.

Born in Norway, Henrik Steffens became the son-in-law of the Berlin court music director Johann Friedrich Reichardt (1752-1814) and often stayed at his estate in Giebichenstein. That’s why sirventes berlin sang folk songs and Goethe settings for four voices and piano, some of which were heard for the first time in over 200 years.
